Shift Detail: Per Diem RN- must provide 16 shifts in a 6 month time frame. Rotating shifts - weekend availability and holiday availability.

Job Summary:


This is a Critical Care RN role and is responsible to respond to emergencies in any department. This role acts as the lead for all patient care emergency responses including but not limited to Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and out-patient Code Blue calls.


The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. The Staff Nurse will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.


Responsibilities:


Respond to emergencies in any department.

Act as the lead for all patient care emergency responses including Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and out-patient Code Blue calls.

Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care.

Demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs.

Effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:


BSN is required.

Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required.

Minimum of 3-4 years of ICU Experience is preferred.

BLS certification required.

ACLS certification required or must obtain ACLS by the end of orientation.

Adheres to all I C.A.R.E. standards.

Must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.

Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.

Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in the area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

Education:


BSN required.

Experience:
