The Nurse Educator is a vital member of the perioperative leadership team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support the clinical competence, professional development, and regulatory compliance of OR nursing staff. The Nurse Educator fosters a culture of continuous learning and excellence in trauma-informed, high-acuity surgical care. Responsibilities include development and delivery of orientation programs for newly hired perioperative nurses and surgical technologists, including the planning and coordination of ongoing competency assessments. This role also designs continuing education programs for a variety of surgical specialties based on evidence-based practice. Candidates must be Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of NY and possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Master’s in Nursing or Education required. Candidates must have a minimum of 3–5 years of recent experience in an OR setting, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) required.
