Shift Detail: 36-hours, day/night rotation including weekends and holidays required.


We are seeking a passionate RN ready to contribute significantly to the field of oncology. Join our distinguished team on the 36-bed adult inpatient Solid Tumor Oncology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital! Job Summary:


Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.


Responsibilities:


Assure proficient and compassionate nursing care tailored to specific patients.

Delegate tasks to clinical and support staff.

Be accountable for leading nursing care for a designated patient group.

Collaborate with the Nursing Director and Patient Care Team members to achieve efficient patient outcomes.

Work closely with patients to meet their needs and expectations and to ensure care is safe, efficient, effective, and timely.

Meet the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:


Minimum one year of licensed RN experience (required).

Experience in oncology nursing (preferred).

Strong interest in oncology.

Effective communication and collaboration.

Dedication to providing outstanding patient care.

Education:


Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.

Experience:


Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required.

Skills/Certifications:


Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.

Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
