Responsibilities:
Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

Seeking a skilled, caring, dynamic leader to manage the Strong West Emergency Department. Candidate must have demonstrated leadership, clinical, and management skills with a desire to work collaboratively in an off-campus environment. Responsibilities include oversight of staffing, participating in performance evaluations, supporting nurse orientation, education, competency development, performance improvement, quality of care, program development, and unit budgeting. The NM will oversee the provision of care for a wide array of patients, including both adults and pediatric patients. Candidates must possess the necessary skills to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment including delivery of direct patient care. This individual will work with the nursing director to create and maintain an environment that supports professional practice and employee engagement.
The successful nurse manager will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the unit staff, directors, leadership teams, providers, and consulting disciplines. Requirements: BSN, Master’s degree within 5 years, 3-5 years of leadership experience, and an active New York State RN license in good standing.
