As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in facilitating a healing and supportive experience, from initial admission to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide pertinent medical education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including further education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works days, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 9:00am—9:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If in an ED, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
High volume emergency department experience
Minimum one year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings.
Minimum one year current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience required for ED settings
Military RN experience will be considered
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $33.50
Maximum hourly: $53.60
